Traffic jams. Whoever invented this crap should die…like…now. A slow and painful death would be awesome, thank you very much!
An hour had passed and we were only about three blocks away from the parking lot where we all had to meet to start this trip to hell tour.
I heaved an irritated sigh and threw the first thing I could find against the door that led to the bunk section of the bus, instantly regretting my action when I realized that the pieces that were now scattered on the floor belonged to my dearly beloved sidekick.
“Fuck!” I yelled, before kneeling down to pick up what was left of my phone.
“Dude, are you okay?” Alex asked from the other side of the door. He opened it and entered the back lounge carefully.
“What do you think, huh?” I snarled, shooting a death glare up at him from my position on the floor.
Alex hesitated for a moment. “Uh…well, no? Care to tell me what happened?”
“Well, first this fucking traffic jam happened and then I got angry and threw my fucking phone against the fucking wall.”
“Why would you throw your phone against a wall?”
“Are you fucking kidding me?” I asked raising an eyebrow. “I didn’t really think about what I was throwing. I just did it!”
“Right…” He nodded before turning around to leave, “Well, we’ll be stuck on this bus for at least another two hours, so join us if you’re getting lonely.” And with that Alex was gone.
I sighed leaning my head against the sofa next to me.
I wanted to shout after him, “Don’t worry, I won’t get lonely!” but I knew he had a point. Normally I would have called or texted Bilvy to pass the time. He always knew a way to cheer me up or keep me entertained. But a short glance at the remains of my sidekick told me that there was no chance of getting a bit of comfort from my best friend this time.
Since I didn’t feel like hanging out with the rest of my band, and there was really nothing else to do, I decided to crawl into my bunk to sulk.
--
“Gabe? Dude, wake up!” Someone was shaking me. I must have fallen asleep at some point. I slowly opened my eyes to see who had come to disturb my peaceful slumber.
I was greeted by a smiling Nate. “Hey Sleeping Beauty, we’ve reached our destination! So get your ass up and out of the bus.”
I flipped him off and then rolled out of my bunk, yawning.
After a short visit to our little bathroom, I finally exited the bus taking in the new surroundings. I spotted my band a few feet away in front of another bus that obviously belonged to The Academy Is….
Suddenly, someone came running towards me screaming “GA-A-B-E-EY!”
I instinctively took a step back. The crazy person appeared to be The Butcher and he was now literally throwing himself at me, causing me to almost lose my balance.
“What the fuck?” I asked, grinning as he hugged me tightly.
“It’s about time, dude!” he said, nudging my shoulder hard.
“Ouch! Why did you do that?”
“Why didn’t you call Bilvy? The poor boy’s gone completely insane waiting for his phone to fucking ring,” The Butcher explained. He crossed his arms over his chest.
“What? Where…where is he? Is he okay?” I asked. I was concerned, as once again, my stupid, selfish self had only considered my feelings, “Fuck, I’m so sorry!” I whispered.
“You’d better be,” The drummer shot back, dragging me towards his band’s tour bus.
When he reached for the door, it opened, revealing the tall, fragile figure of my best friend, William Beckett. His eyes darted around until they found mine, causing his lips to curl up in a weak smile.
“H-hey, Bilvy.” Hesitantly, I stepped forward, opening my arms for him, hoping waiting for a reaction.
